Wendy Peterson grew up in South Florida and earned her BA from Wheaton College in Illinois. As a commissioned US Navy veteran, she held administrative roles in helicopter and fighter squadrons in California. After taking time off to start her family, she pursued a Master of Science degree in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Florida College of Medicine in Gainesville.
Most of Wendy’s medical career has been in family medicine. She discovered functional medicine while addressing her own health issues and realized that allopathic medicine often provided only temporary solutions. Wendy received functional medicine training while working at the Southern Environmental Medicine Center in Atlanta, Georgia. Her office had many shared patients with Dr. Donald Dennis, an ENT specialist and recognized authority on fungal load in the nose and body.
Throughout her husband’s career, Wendy practiced medicine in various states, including Georgia, South Dakota, and Oklahoma. From 2019 to 2023, she was on staff at OU Health’s Family Medicine Center. Wendy is enthusiastic about returning to a medical practice that embraces an integrative approach to wellness. She emphasizes the importance of good nutrition, clean air, exercise, sunlight, and sufficient rest.
Wendy and her husband are proud parents to five children and four beautiful granddaughters.
